EBC Contour brake disc. The aim of the development is to improve the braking performance compared to the original brake disc. EBC uses heat-treated carbon steel for the MX Contour brake discs. This steel is much more resistant to rust than cast steel.

In addition, the entire surface is protected with a 3-micron thick zinc coating, which is worn away in the area of the brake pad contact zone already during braking.

Only in this area can light flash rust form with longer service life.

The brake discs are drilled in a birdcage design in order to get by with as few holes as possible while at the same time optimising the cleaning of the brake disc from rainwater and brake dust. The fewer the holes, the better the wet braking performance and the lower the wear.

The floating brake discs are equipped with the unique and patented SD system from EBC, whose square rivets in the recesses of the brake disc under the heat generated during braking allow unlimited expansion of the outer and inner ring without affecting the riveted joint
